So they have changed now since their other forecasts for no snow tonight?

Yep significantly for the better. Theyve decided that Netweather always wins! :D

Just unbelievable forecasts from the B.B.C. during the past week, they were wrong last Tesday right up until the Snow was falling in our region and then they updated the warnings, I don't even bother to watch the B.B.C. forecast now it's a total shambles. rant over. No wonder the public are mislead listening to that bunch of .... :D :D

Completely agree, but it's interesting they have backed down and are now going with what everything else is predicting.

OMG B) Get your prozac ready but I dont think you will have to unscrew the cap lol

Prozac? If we don't get some proper snow at some point during the w/e I'm going to need heroin. B)

Watching 'blizzards' and 'whiteouts' about 20 miles to my north south east and west is starting to get on my nerves.

Quite a few people I know have commented on how confusing the BBC's graphics have been over the last few weeks. They can be used very effectively- Countryfile forecasts are still excellent- but during the regular weekday forecasts they don't seem to have used the graphics effectively at all with a mishmash of blues and whites all over the place.

Surely dumbing down to the minimum of information, and then making that minimum of information confusing to the lay viewer, is the worst of all worlds? Anyway, there's always the internet- both here on Net-Weather, and over on the Met Office website, the outputs are much better.

The Netweather pros are always right with snow. Good to see the BBC now backing down from earlier and go for much more snow tomorrow

They must be reading our forum right now: Oh no it's going to rain the temperature is rising.

OK

Here is the proof.

In July 2009, I climbed to the top of the Highest Mountain in the UK, Ben Nevis, just to see some snow!! see attached.

So, its now official, no one is more mad about snow that me, are they?

OK ,so it was part of the three peaks challenge, doing it again this may! but we did have a great snowball fight in the UK in July, not many have done that.

Ahh, Weather Man Bland, you grace this thread at last. What was the matter, dis you get stuck in the past and still posting on the South East string??

Yep, I think your right, it will be 2-0 to Stevenage by the AM, an prob more by Monday morning.

Have you got any thoughts about the charts for monday, looks like it could be v.intresting.

Oh, I've been out all day and not had any SOS's so maybey the boys done good and finished it all on his own, and a little help form his good lady. Or he is waiting for some good old dad help tomorrow!!

Ive been on husband duties all day and just got a break lol! Will be lucky to get Dad to help he's in Tenerife! Back to the weather before I get shot by a mod!

I think 3 counties will get between 10-15cm by the end of tommorow and light persistent snow on Monday. Lots of people are watching every forecast and counting the specles but its realy irrelevant at the moment. BBC charts show a general trend before +24hrs when they can forecast heavier bursts etc. Its a bit of a forecasters nightmare because for our regioun they have to track percipitation over the low countries and then calculate how much it will pep up on crossing the north sea. As with most NE / E incursions some areas may record 20cm and others only 5cm and the only way to predict for your location is to look at the radar. Beyond Tues looks interesting as we may be on the northern side of the low skirting the south. If this is the case we could get some very heavy snowfall. Latest GFS shows cold and snow lasting for another 10 days and most models agree to a certain extent. Not good for photocopier sales !!

I think you will be!:wallbash:

So tbh if it snows just abit from that tonight you will both be eating humble pie!:p

Well, as I said the situation will inevitably evolve, so we may well see some heavy snow still in Herts. We'll see!

I have looked through all the posts on this thread and am confused to how much snow we should expect in Norwich tonight/tomorrow. Can anyone give me some insight to what i should expect and how confident they are of it happening?

Looks like that before the "main event" hits us tonight, we will see another cluster of showers moving in from the NorthSea further adding to the snow totals!

More than confident of it happening...can see it working its way on radar as we speak, and its crossing over the North Sea will only add to it... Expect say 5 to 10cm in your area, adding to wbhat you have already. Expect this cluster of showers to give you a few cm too before this main band moves in :wallbash:

Actually I am more mad about snow than you I spent £2000 flying to Lapland to see snow and loved it that much I went again the next year, and when I was sixteen I flew to Canada ( did they have planes in them days) to see a white christmas and for the first time in 17 yrs it did not snow untill boxing day, but it was 4ft so I did'nt mind.

Oh and there is no attachment. :acute:

The main front is over France at the moment as this moves in it will enhance the PPN. As to extent it impacts us. Well I'd say 5cm widely, some up to 10cm a little further south and east.

If you look at this site it shows you up to date wind direction and speed and also dew temps etc for 100s of locations ....

http://www.xcweather.co.uk/ Winds are still NE but if you look of the Norfolk coast they are veering E. I dont expect the widespread snow to hit our region much before midnight TBH.

Just noticed that dew points are getting high (+2) near the coasts so dont be dissapointed here to sleet / rain. Still snow 20 miles inland.

Here's a question for you? If we are going to get lucky with the snow tonight, why is all the snow going down to the SE? It is on the Radar I am looking at anyway. :acute:
