Yes that's where I'll be heading tommorow late morning filling up the camera space, although overcast and snowy wont be the best photo op conditions.

Can't complain anyway, will just be nice to see the impressive snowdepths.

Well, it's trying really hard to snow here...

Just these little tiny flakes coming down at the moment...

I'll do another "lamp-post check" a bit later, but from looking at the radar, it's going to be a while before a "proper" shower hits here!!...

Lamp post check? Isn't that something to do with male dogs??!

I know Ian and others talked about light ppn not showing on the radar - but I'm really not sure where all this ppn (albeit light) is supposed to come from for tonight into tomorrow.

Nothing on Met office radar apart from very light in south east. Nothing, even on Meteox European radar. Thought ppn was moving in from Europe?

Very light showers on raintoday - in south east and a few edging through gloucester - all looking very dry!

Yes, that's one definition!

It's also a highly scientific method of detecting snowfall, proven to be even more reliable than the most sophisticated weather radars...! :)

Hold you horses everyone, its will come dont worry, i feel maybe its slightly behind time wise, think its pushing up through france as we speak, i would say hitting us anytime from around 7ish, but id say it was more of an afternoon thing to be honest. but its only going to be light, doubt it will do/effect anything, would like to wake up surprised though :)

Just got back from the pub, light snow here since 9pm

For anyone looking at the model forum at the moment - dont

Apart from the few experts (John Holmes to name the main one ive just seen in the last couple of pages of it) there is nothing but hissyfits, randomcasting and, to top it off, a sprinkling of bull****!

Two things here

1) Nobody, including the models have a clue whats going on, with the models chopping and changing every run (as GP suggested would happen)

2) I've lost track of the number of people who have said and re-said that the next few days are very much down to nowcasting - too much marginality/local uncertainty to warrant simply looking at the charts

Im off to bed in the hope that come tomorrow some more realism will have been injected into all of us!

Kind Regards

SK

Maybe some don't want any more snow - the disruption has gone on long enough and people want to get back to a normal routine.

I think you are right, pretty and exciting it may be, but for self employed folks (like me, I'm a bl**dy gardener I'm not happy, in fact I'm quite sad!) its a nightmare, and the shops are looking like russian supermarkets after only four days!
