According to the NW Euro radar it should be nudging into East Anglia pretty soon.

Its really pepping up in just the right places. Looking at the meteox radar, there is a good deal of precip moving in from the Netherlands.

The Meteox radar is wrong , if you look on the Satellite radar it has heavy Snow about 150 miles further North than it should be , according to that Northern England and SE Scotland are getting pasted right now . Check the link .

Ok this is a joke. I honestly didn't expect it to be this mild, I thought the temp would stay below 0 for pretty much the whole day with no thaw. Instead there is quite a bit of thawing taking place and not only that... The PPN here keeps alternating between heavy WET snow and rain. Completely awful event so far, snow melt, rain and if that wasn't bad enough the streamer near Skeggy is going towards Notts/Derby and missing Leicester

Well I think there is a lot to be happy about.

1. We have had the most fantastic week, far better than anything in the past 10 years.

2. Temperatures might be above freezing but they are holidng steady around 1-2c east to west. Thats not that bad!

3. There is a finger of precipitation moving down from Lincolnshire.

4. Precipitation is starting to move across from the continent.

5. Its only 11:00!

6. Light snow on and off all morning.

I think people should hold fire or post mortems just yet. The main precipitation is just beginning to push in from the East- it may be that little accumulates.

Incidentally the orange warning for some parts is valid from 1800 tonight.

Been all Snow here for ages , and the temp drops are now showing up on XC weather. And you can pretty much ignore the radar this morning , it shows no snow over me but it has been snowing for an hour non stop .

Agree with you Chris, ignore the radar, worship your window. Temp starting to drop now.

Worryingly though, it is struggling to settle.

okay... so it has been snowing lightly here! stopped now and only a tiny bit of sleet at the end of that snow! its 1.4C here! but i think the temps will start to drop around the country as we get into the afternoon and we may have a reasonable amount of snow! We just have to sit tight guys!

I think most of the stuff will hit Derby/Nottingham (as Andy says) and the northern half of Staffordshire, most of it will miss me
