Been raining for many hours now - back to normal weather! Still it's nice that the house isn't quite so cold with that bone chilling cold now behind us.

Temps around 5c which is mildest in many weeks now.

Currently 4c after dropping to 2.4c overnight so still not all that mild but the big thaw carries on.

Rain now again wind has eased off at least thaws the snow too fast.

Ground is extremly wet as it`s still frozen underneath and just running off very quick, but it has

soaked in too.

Well the rain stayed as sleet throughout and it looked like there had been a fresh cover around fox house. very rapid thaw going on up there plenty of floods too drive through so in a way more dangerous than it was the other week when I drove home across the snow.

Snow here has really ran away overnight. I expected it too hang around longer since it had a layer of ice on top to protect it but a Max of 5c overnight made short shrift of it.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
