Nasty! but hoping for a bright sunny day tomorrow.

Well that rain band pushed through pretty quickly and the ground is now dry, its turned rather cold infact, down to 1C with a cool breeze and a clear starry morning here, all in all not bad at all, so much for all the gloom over it being wet wet wet, actually the next three days look bone dry

Thaw continued overnight under cloudy skies and a lot of the snow has gone from the moors. Still there of course but clearly very patchy and not the complete white of yesterday.

An overnight low of 2.2c which is about average for the time of year so not a cold night and mild compared to recently. LOL.

Another average type of day coming up but disappointed by the lack of sun.

Plenty of sunshine today, the first sun for a week (!!) but quite cloudy/breezy at present with the temperature 7.7c.

The mean over the previous 24 hours was the highest since 10 Dec!!

In Norwich I am seeing a white/yellow ball in the sky casting UV rays down upon us- for the first time since the 9th January! I was starting to get used to its absence. There is some patchy cloud about but currently skies are largely clear.

I had originally feared a spell of weather like in January 1996 when some places had less than 10 hours' sunshine all month, but this coming week should be much sunnier for most because polar maritime air will be making it across in between systems giving "cleaner" air for when the high pressure ridges over from the east.

A fairly pleasant day with some brightness though the sun didn't manage to break through and the clouds always looked like they were threatening rain. Alas we have seen no rain so far today.

Temps around the average, though it felt quite mild at times especially as there was no wind about. Temps this evening have dropped a little, though further cloud and rain overnight will prevent a ground frost.
