It has been a clear, cold and frosty night. Low –2.1c, grass minimum –5.6c. At observation, cold and frosty, but mid to high level cloud has been increasing since dawn blotting out the sun. The morning remained cloudy with only brief bright spells. Outbreaks of sleet and snow commenced through the afternoon, turning to freezing rain for a short time around dusk. Cold top temperature up to 18:00GMT, 2.1c, though rising to 3c by late evening. Maximum wind gust17mph ESE.

A foggy start, about 500m, sky obscured-min temp -0.1C currently on +0.1C and another morning with a full snow cover-2cm

Wooo got my weather station's outdoor temperature sensor back on again! Finally located a replacement after not having data since early December - typically missing the extreme cold period!

Anyway... currently 3.2c after a low of 2.8c so very little variation to test the thing with!

Yuck horrid dull dark dank day, a mild 8C but it sure doesn't feel like it, colder crisper sunnier weather feels warmer than this with increasing solar input in February.

Another dull, misty day with showery light rain/drizzle, although it has turned slightly brighter in the last few hours. The maximum has been 8.4c and currently it's 7.6c.

Mostly dull with rain at times - the rain cleared mid afternoon giving a few bright intervals before sunset. Unusual in that we recorded the highest temperature of the year so far at around 10pm last night and the day's minimum at 6pm yesterday. Currently cloudy, 7.5 deg C (it's been close to that figure all day), wind moderate S. Maximum 8.8, minimum 4.8.

[Thundery wintry showers]

Dull, damp and drizzly in Norwich- hardly a glimmer of sunshine. One remarkable thing about this winter has been the association of anything vaguely mild with a near-absence of sunshine and vice versa- I don't remember any previous season having such a strong inverse association between temperatures and sunshine.

Unless the models have got it horribly wrong we should see some more sunshine in 2-3 days' time, before any hint of snowy weather, due to high pressure building from the continent.
