A beautiful frosty blue sky morning here. Clear visibility the fells look resplendent, the highest parts covered in a white blanket etched against the blue sky.

Proof that the BBC temp forecasts are very urban centred. They weere showing 0 degrees for N England last night, when really that temp related to centres such as Newcastle and York not the countryside which easily got down to below -2 last night. I suspect Shap Fell was the coldest spot in England and Wales last night.

Anyhow it is looking a lovely day, I can see temps dropping sharply around dusk after a high of just 3 or 4, another sharp frost tonight here I feel. Plenty of sharp frost ahead next week. Feb often delivers more frosty nights than Jan thanks to the increased chance of clear skies and settled conditions i.e. less wind and cloud.
