Snow ray, I really wouldn't bother with the Met office forecasts, I find them extremely inaccurate.

Yes I make you right when it comes to the graphics on their site, the BBC site is ever worse! <_<

certainly looks like an intresting 10 days coming up for this area. looks like the next 3 days are just the prelude...

something not mentioned lately, the wind chill, with gust up to 30 by the end of the week. it will feel bitterly cold. for example; friday night in SE :-

Temperature (°C) -3

Windspeed (km/h) 30

Wind Chill - Steadmann (°C) -10.8

Wind Chill - VS (°C) -10.4

Really frustrating as i have a lamp post ideally positioned outside a bedroom window which for 30 years has given me much pleasure / frustration (sad old git) however recently Dartford council has changed it to one of the modern type that throws te light downwards, makes it vertiaully impossible to see whats falling, should I complain or just sue? :cc_confused:

My guess it is sleeting but not 100% certain.

Every now and then you hear this sound of something tapping your window , look outside and a moderate graupel/hail shower is falling... That's whats done all morning , hence the whiteness however it's melting very fast near the houses.

Neil, do you have a bank of fridges outside your house with the door open? Throughout this winter you always seem to manage to get more snow than me and yet you are slightly lower and slightly nearer the coast. Nothing but sleet here and a dandruff covering

It's probably the cold air filtering from inside the house via the dodgy windows

Moderate to heavy sleet here and by the looks of the radar a fair bit more to come. Struggling to settle, but didn't think we'd have anything but rain today so bodes well for the rest of the week. Moving house on Friday...or not possibly!

Very light snow here - stopping and starting. Not enough to settle but an unexpected bonus biggrin.gif

Wintry mix here in London SE12. Latest Meteox radar.

Would expect some temporary accumulation at times, over the Chilterns and Downs, especially in any heavier ppn.

Prospect of some snowfall for more of our area as the week progresses.

Regards,

Tom.
