0.3C here after an overnight low of -3.1C. While walking the dog this morning, I could swear there were a few minuscule flakes of snow, but it's generally misty, dark and horrid.

Yesterday's thick fog cleared sometime between 0130 and 0530 this morning and for a while there were a few, barely visible, patches of blue sky. The fog has returned in the last hour and is gradually thickening.

Just missed an air frost last night with a min' of 0.3c. Don't know what the temp' is at present as I'm at work but when I left at 0940 it was 0.7c and the mean wind speed was 6 mph N.

I think there must have been some drizzle overnight as there was 0.4mm in the gauge this morning.

I just can't get over the huge number of 'cold spell' part 31, 32 33, 34, 199 etc. threads, surely it's just winter and does every square mile of the country need a different thread ?
