To add to the previous comment news 24 weather basically said 15-20cms of snow over higher ground and considerable snow to low levels possible of your in the area shown. (Basically the midlands) He then said if your in this area make sure you keep informed on what the weathers going to be like tommorow over the next few hours. Hopefully they forecast this one right.

oh cool! (regarding rain in Northampton) then there's hope for us in Notts yet! let me get my handy ACME rocket blaster and point it towards our russian titanium snow sheild to blast that away!! All the reports of snow seem hopefull, I just hope Im not in some type of anomoly-hell and it rains once it gets here. Did anyone who caught the BBC forcast happen to randomly notice if the east midlands was included in that? or is it just for you lucky westerners?

On closer inspection, it's a bit sleetish. But there's definately some large flakes flitering down.

Turned my back for one minute... and guess what's happened. It's snowing more heavily. At least I can tell now that it's pure snow. Pretty, but nothing else.

High ground only event by the look of it , It doesn't feel cold outside and it doesn't even look sleety , plus xc isnt reporting Snow anywhere that I can see so any Snow must be localized .

The only Chance we have in Leicestershire and Nottingham is if the band stalls and gives the Cold air more time to undercut .

Sorry for invading your threads again.

You guys could of done with this fog we have to keep your temperatures down before the PPN arrived. We just hit 1.4c - The fog rolled back in, and it smashed it back down to 0.9c in a matter of minutes - If the PPN reaches this far north, it will almost certainly be of the wintry type.

Reguarding the person asking about Northampton - My friend tells me it's been a dry day there, no PPN at all!

Edit: Now 0.8c.

have to say im not getting high hopes for tomorrows event, purely because the band looks like it will go too far east/south. i respect the met office warnings, but i just think we are too far west for any action. back to today, and, hey presto, its raining

12z is a total downgrade surprise-surprise. was looking forward to a few good runs of early next week being snow-fest Tues, but now its very light snow, and the end of the week is rain with above freezing temps. Hopefully an isolated run...

well, as per usual, it looks like the game that never started, is surely over for Notts today and most likely tomorrow... maybe next winter..... cray.gif

Got down to a bitter -3.2c last night before the freezing fog set in.

It's one of those raw, grey mornings at the moment, hovering around freezing, could see something here easily if it reaches us as its all between 150-170 meters above sea level around this part of Telford

Edit: Now 0.8c.

We have thickening mist here, but the precipitation is practically on my doorstep so it probably won't make too much difference now.

Your temperature is 0.4c with a dewpoint of -0.4c! That's more than enough for the PPN to be of snow!

0.6c here now.

I'll stop posting in this thread before I get in trouble.
