Not much tbh. She did say the Meto Advisory had been extended to Worcestershire with 2-4cm lower ground and 3-6cm higher ground.

The MetO advisory only extends to Warks in the W Midlands. For Worcs there's now a warning for icey roads first thing. That's all.

Even at just over 12 hours away, tomorrow's snowfall potential is still a difficult one to call. If the front can maintain its intensity while progressing into the Midlands, then I think heavy snowfall looks probable- with temporary small accumulations of 1-3cm or perhaps higher across more elevated locations. This is really going by the NAE and NMM output. Further north and west into south-eastern regions of the west Midlands, I wouldn't be surprised to see a wintry mix of sleet or snow, but I suspect the latter will most likely be confined to high ground.

Well i your right then its not worth a second look , im sure the met office feel theres more of a risk than 1-3cm mailnly on high ground , the beeb have b'ham at 1c at 1500hrs tommorrow so under heavy ppn there shouldnt be much problem , the main worry is will the ppn get to us and how much will the be left coming out the sky .

She mentioned the advisory in to Worcs. She must have meant Warks.

Front seems to be shifting its angle now with some moderate returns slowly heading towards the south Midlands region, will be very interesting to see how fast it can turn wintry overnight, Odiham already reporting sleet and in the heaviest bursts it could well be turning sleety in nature already.

Interestingly the graphics from Invent suggests the front will strengthen somewhat again tomorrow morning which could well help to counteract the rising temps during the daytime, strongest in a line from Yeovil NE upto the Hull region.

Could be a few surprises here. Let's not forget the snow risk has been relatively underplayed so far by the media and some forecasters.

We know from previous experience that some very good snowfalls can occur in marginal setups.

All in all, plenty to be optimistic about tonight from a snow perspective. Even if tonight into tomorrow fails, there's the potential event on Thursday and possibly even beyond that for some of us.

Weather reports from down south are turning increasingly wintry as the cold air starts to undercut the front which is encouraging. I'm not sure though how the front is meant to pep up though as someone mentioned as their is no feed for it to do so and its progged to decay as/if it moves north. I would have thought that as in effect its two cold air masses meeting then it would need some sort of convection to aid any growth ????????? Latest radar returns show it losing some intensity already and theres no reports of anyone being pasted down south I can find so not great imo. The NAE looks promising for some eastern regions if it can push north but due to the fact it will be wet slushy snow and temps and dew points are marginal if anything falls then it wont last long at all wallbash.gif Hope I'm wrong though and you get some fun drinks.gif

Looks like were miss tommorow's weather front by a few miles South East, miss Thursdays Snow by a few miles South East and miss Thursday Nights snow showers due to the wind being westerly enough to drag the showers to far north.

Looks like the latest NAE shows tomorrows snow falling for eastern wales into nw england, rather than the east midlands as was shown on the 12z.

Lovely GFS run with some getting a good dose of snow tomorrow with another attack perhaps on Thursday. Then it hints at some heavy perhaps very heavy snow by the weekend but thats going too far out. Enjoy the next couple of days! Could be exciting for some!

Omg is the NAE ok??? Quite a change from the 12z! Very exciting stuff.

Latest NAE run is interesting to say the least- which is now suggesting that the snow risk will be further north and west across the west Midlands. And another interesting point, is that it would agree with where the GFS has been suggesting the snow risk to be over the last few days.

Some people will be seeing snow tomorrow and on thursday and that looks likely to be some lucky people in the West and East Midlands. :nonono:

Northern part of the front is now decaying quite quickly, though the southern part over S.England is still holding up quite well with some heavy bursts probably bringing the snow level down somewhat but we shall see.

Also the NAE is *much* further west with this band on the 18z run, now gets into west Midlands and Wales instead, I think though its gone too far in the extreme to the west and the actual truth will be a touch further east but we shall see!

Certainly a good run from the NAE for the west Midlands, for central and eastern areas, it would mean rain...however as I just said, I think its gone too far west looking at the radar...

Northants, it IS a big change, its shifted the whole northern edge of the front about 50-70 miles further NW which at 12hrs out is a rather massive shift...in other words it moves the snow risk from S.Midlands, to Wales and NW Midlands!

IF the 18z NAE was right, rain for anyone east of B'ham...
