Take the temperature in fahrenheit

Subtract 32 from that

Divide your answer by 1.8

Theres your answer in Celsius.

I find it easier, instead of dividing by 1.8, to divide by 9 and multiply by 5 but it's always fun to practise with -40%, the same in Fahrenheit as it is in Celsius.

Nowadays, when temperatures are shown on flights, you can see the two converge at several miles up.
