Snowing again here.

Unless we get a big storm that lasts longe rthan 10 minutes , i cant see much happening here.

Looks like as i mentioned before, everything is west of us.

Hopefully later it will edge eastwards and catch us.

Starting to get brighter here...

Oddly enough though, it's turned back to mainly snow (about 90% snow, 10% rain)...

I think that's going to be it for the time being for this area...

More later on this afternoon / evening perhaps??? whistling.gif

Those are my thoughts and hopes too. From this it looks like it probably will but I don't know how much the precipitation with fizzle whilst moving back eastwards. At least it will be after nightfall so marginality will become less of a problem...marginally

Neither raining or snowing here at the moment and I can see the sun through the low cloud.

Yep... Pretty similar story here too!

Nothing falling from the sky and it's getting progressively brighter!

Looking pretty wintry though... Everything's got a good covering (but not sure how long it will last!)

Watching the forecast on N24 just now......it's all heading NE and fizzling out as it goes. Tonight to be clear and freezing, tomorrow bright and sunny.

Looks like that was it, then. :)

Yeah, i watched that bulletin in our reception area at work just now. Thing is Ian said earlier on here that rush hour and this evening we were going to get heavier stuff. I guess that's decided to plant itself somewhere else!

Very wet snow here, sleety at times.

Just had some VERY heavy snow in glos center.

The flakes were golfball sized and everything was going white.

Now its just light fine snow and all has melted again.

Shame its so wet, we wouldhave about 2 inches by now.

Had mostly rain with the odd bit of snow in the heavier bursts here at work in Nailsea today.

Just spoke to the wife on the phone & she said it was snowing in Weston.

Heavy persistent snow in Bradley Stoke and environs for past 20+ mins, readily settling and urban minor roads now snow-slush cover of ca. 2cm as opposed to mere slush covered. Still time for this to get decidely tricky and especially into Glos later. WBFL's will now fall into afternoon and consequently dependency on heavier PPN rates for snow will lessen in a number of areas. Note latest blog entry on UKMO thoughts for later, cheers Ian

Ian just updated his blog again - http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/weather/ianfergusson/

looks like rush hour will be worst for north Glos. I see the forest of dean have it quite bad at the moment. Guess it's going to move east through the day.

DOH: thanks Ian for your update!

As Ian & others have said, it really is hit & miss with plenty more oppotunities over the coming days for all.

Apparently it's only rain down in the centre of Bath... Amazing what 150 metres altitude will do!

Yea my partner texted from the City (where's she's shopping, what is it with women and shopping!!?!!) that it was pouring down but that there had been snow on the higher part of the journey.

A very wet morning in Warminster with some torrential showery rain and around 20mm in the gauge!

And it's 4.7c & rising.

Looking at radar wales/midalnds amd the usual ones have got all the ppn with it on course to miss us mostly.

It would surely have to move south east to really hit west country?
