BBC Weather also mentioned springtides this weekend along with the heavy rain is going to cause a lot of problems with flooding etc.wacko.gif

Yep, I hope Thursday comes off! Will be interesting to see if we get anything other than rain on Sunday here too!

Right, I'm off for tonight... I think my WiFi is playing silly beggars (stopped and started it twice now and still playing up!)... It's starting to really annoy me now, so before the laptop meets a nasty end, I'm gonna give up and go to bed!

Catch ya later!

TTFN

Cheers catch you soon.

Spring tides, yes I believe we are heading for some of the highest tides for several years so combination of low pressure and mabe wind fed surge could pose problems.

Fortunately the track of the low is such that it should not create a 'classic surge' of great amplitude.

We've had a good day so far, no showers and none on the radar for us either as far as I can see. At least it gives things a chance to dry out before tomorrow's deluge. I might venture down the seafront and watch the waves if I can see anything through the blasted rain! ph34r.gif

Had a heavy shower this morning which left a bit of local flooding on roads. Other wise a very nice day with some warm sunshine.

FROM This Is Glos ( Newspaper )

Heavy thunder storms and gusting winds are expected to hit Gloucestershire over the weekend.

Scattered showers have already arrived in parts of the county and they are expected to get worse overnight with up to 25 millimetres of rain expected on Sunday.

As rain showers get heavier they will be accompanied by increasingly high winds with potential for gusts of up to 50mph.

Gloucestershire weather expert Ian Thomas said the wet conditions could lead to localised flooding in some areas.

"It's going to be a very wet weekend," he said.

"A storm is coming in during the early hours of Sunday morning and it's a big one. It will stay with us for most of the day.

"It could lead to some local flooding in one or two places. I certainly wouldn't go anywhere without my coat on."

Evening! Have you read Ian's latest Blog update?...

Looks like it's going to be fairly wet, but not too bad for Cornwall and West Devon... Sounds like it's going to be worse the further East you are! :help:

Slight breeze and rain here.

Boys meant to be playing rugby, but it was cancelled yesterday possibly due to approaching storm, looks like they could've played after all.

Netweather 10 day glance thingy has taken away all my snow and low temperatures for next week mad.gif what's going on?

Is there not going to be the last grasp of straws scenario with the white stuff?

I know - it's terribly frustrating isn't it! Nex thurs-fri looked fantastic yesterday and now it's completely disappeared not even a snow chance. I don't know if these forecasts have a reputation for changing back as much as they do forward but certainly a mahoosive downgrade.

Well i drunkenly returned home last nite at 2.30am (or should i say this morning blush.gif) and it had only just started lightly raining here in Bristol.

When i got up at 9am it was grey and but fairly dry and now its just starting steadily raining, not much in the way of wind either!

So for me unless the weather went bonkers between 2.30am and 9am, not stormy weather here!unknw.gif

That was a bit of a non event for our location, hardly any wind & 1mm of rain.

If they can't even get the position of this low right at 6hrs, how the hell are they going to get the upcoming easterly right for the end ofthe week.

Plenty still to play for I feel.

It seems to not just change, but dramatically change on each run, so who knows, i know i wouldn't want to be the one predicting it wacko.gif

Did I miss the storm? unsure.gif

No. It missed us! There's been hardly any wind blowing here this morning!whistling.gif

as for the end of next week, the HP looks too close to the UK - a bit like early Feb. I'd imagine any snow chances will be downgraded in the next day or so, unless the HP progged for mid-late week decides to move further north.
