This is Gloucestershire love ramping up any chance of bad weather (I'm sure they must be owned by the Daily Mail?) and always wheel out this "expert". Even I in my novice opinion could see we were unlikely to get much wind/rain here as we were right on the outskirts of it all!

I know - it's terribly frustrating isn't it! Nex thurs-fri looked fantastic yesterday and now it's completely disappeared not even a snow chance. I don't know if these forecasts have a reputation for changing back as much as they do forward but certainly a mahoosive downgrade.

Those 7-day forecasts on NetWeather are updated 4 times a day and use the latest GFS run (if you look at the bottom of the forecast it says Updated using the xxZ on [weekday] [day] [month] [hh:mm:ss] (where xx is the GFS run (00Z, 06Z, 12Z or 18Z)).

With forecasting the weather 48 hours out being so difficult and likely to change at the moment, I don't think anyone really knows what's going to happen in 5-6 days time.

Looks like it will be turning colder agian though by next Friday, but will it be dry and cold, or cold and snowy???

That was a bit of a non event for our location, hardly any wind & 1mm of rain.

If they can't even get the position of this low right at 6hrs, how the hell are they going to get the upcoming easterly right for the end ofthe week.

Plenty still to play for I feel.

Hope so!

Then my thoughts will turn to Easter Holidays, in 2008 we were planting spuds in snow in March and sitting on Constantine Beach (Cornwall) in April getting a tan! Love our weather!

Evening

Not many people about on the forums. I suppose there isn't much to talk about at the moment.unknw.gif

Maybe the next discussions will be about a nice massive heatwave over the UK.yahoo.gif

There was a nice Easterly showing on the charts, up until this morning!

Would've meant a fair bit of snow later next week for most parts... But it's not showing anymore! :)

Dry and cool next week seems to be the most likely outcome (at the moment), judging on the comments in the MOD thread!

Just been reading the MOD thread,It's still very confusing..... for me anyway to understand what they mean etc.wallbash.gif

It's been a very interesting forum to try and follow. See the bad storms have hit areas of Europe hard.

Yep, sounds like France and Spain got hit pretty bad... Glad it avoided us!

Even the MOD thread has been getting quieter over the last week or so...

I read the Scottish one for a bit the other night when they were getting their snow storm!...

Looks like we'll have to wait for next winter before we get a chance to post similar stories (assuming next winter will be at least as good as this one!)..

Today was really not that bad in the end fortunately, a little light rain in the morning and only slight wind. It does feel all that cold either despite the NW wind.

Are you sure? Doesn't seem to be much chance at least not until we head into the weekend anyway.

afternoon,

11.2c here today, loverly warm sun shine back door wide open, looks like the easterly has gone from the models.

i think (imo) winter is slipping away now, we may get the odd sleety shower at some point in the next week, but i think that may be it really.

looking forward to so more of what we have now.

Yes a very welcome entrance to the start of spring and I would be quite happy for it to continue in this vein. I wouldnt be too surprised however if winter did make a couple of comebacks yet mind

Peaked at 8.7 degrees here but must of been warmer in the sunshine, last night was quite a hard frost around -3, tonight looks even harder.

like i said it may get a little cooler or even cold but i think it will be a fleeting visit, but as long as there is sun i dont mind, its a waste of snow this time of year unless you have some really cold air around.

im ready for spring and summer.

heres to next winter i hope it out does 2009/10.
