It became every bit the nowcast issue we expected based on the 00z NAE we started the morning forecasts with and for the 0600z update, we were catering for the colder 'backwash' across much of Somerset and Wilts albeit not really relevant for our forecast purposes (not significant / disruptive snow - that was always signalled, correctly, for NE Glos and NE Wilts).

Tomorrow is effectively a wet one for most (WBFL's will be above 1000m by mid afternoon across much of our region.... phew, scorchio) BUT do note the geographic caveats outlined on my blog based on the very latest UKMO assessment. Still a snow chance for some of you, but it's not a widespread one at levels <100m AMSL.

PS pls note blog was updated a few mins ago

Cheers Ian,

Quick question if I may, but I'm sure I read somewhere on the forum that there's a possibility of the weather turning colder from Sunday onwards?? - I know in weather talk Sunday is a age away, but was wondering if you have any thoughts on this?

Thanks as always

Check out Sat 6th March for your area as well !!

LOL 6th march is silly.

Just imagine 5cm + every hour for 6 hours!

Shame it will change so much by then.

Hi Yamkin!

Hmmm, that would be good, but what are the chances??

Mind you, like I said earlier, the GFS has been playing with the idea (on and off!) of it getting colder again by the weekend...

Interesting Model watching for the past few days 'ey?!?

Dunno...

Wasn't expecting to see anything this morning, but did!...

We might see a little bit tomorrow morning, although Ian has said it's going to be places >150m ASL. I doubt there'll be any in Trowbridge, but might see some at work (about 210m ASL).

Then it looks like a nice load of rain for the rest of the week! Luvley jubbly! (not)

Not that I saw, was pouring with rain late last night and was dry by the time I woke up this morning.

BBC forecast looked good for N Devon, but I guess it might clip Dartmoor to. Can't see it being much warmer up here than down there. All downhill from tomorrow afternoon, 9C on Wednesday in Plymouth.

Well, it's past my bedtime!!!

Currently 1.0°c here with a DP of -1.4°c

Night all!

Looking at MetO website it appears to be warming up by the weekend! I hope that trend continues.

The sky outside of my window does look very snowy. Rather that than rain though on my duty day.

Models are suggesting it will turn colder again by the weekend with the prospect of some

disruptive snow for the West Country. No sign of any mild westher

:)
