Any one know if there would be much of a difference in temperate from a standard 1.5m height or at the top of my wind vane at 10m?.

Yes - massive difference.

My dad's got a VP2 with the sensor suite mounted about 8m up under the anemometer. His temperatures are frequently 2 or three degrees different from his old-fashioned mercury thermometer on a post about 1m above the ground. In the summer, the temperatures tend to be lower and in the winter, higher, but always different.
