Right at the bottom when you click the arrow for each day. At the moment, 4s are appearing on the southern coasts, and 3s are in most areas of the country.

To pick up on John's comment, try to go skiing for a few days in January in sunny weather if you want a natural tan...

True it is the length of time that skin is exposed to unbroken sunshine which is the key factor, generally the higher you are in altitude the greater the suns rays strength. Abundant sunshine and a cooling strong wind are a lethal combination, the cooling wind often lulls people into a false sense of security, it is much more difficult to notice if the skin is burning when a wind is blowing on the skin, in calmer conditions it becomes much more noticeable.

As happened to me yesterday.

Well I didn't really burn, just caught the sun a bit. Went up to Everton Brow (an exposed hill which rises quite sharply) and it was very, very windy.

I have a fair complexion, although it only takes about 10 minutes of sun for me to look rather swarthy. Although its kind of strange, because sometimes I can expose my arms to the sun for just a few minutes and I end up burning - whilst the back of my neck goes very dark.

Generally, I don't like going out in the sun for more than a few minutes at a time, and prefer to stay in cool shade of trees, umbrellas or an office/home.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
