Just to prove you shouldnt always judge a month by its CET, apart from a few days earlier this week it hasn't felt that warm at all though, on my walks in the countryside this April my memories have been of cold mornings and cool easterly/northerly winds only the sun's strength making it feel pleasant from mid morning onwards.

But it is only April. What do you expect?

Nightime mins have been quite cool aside from the final week so its the high daytime maximums that have contributed to the above average CET.

Manley have it at 8.9C. So another above average April but certainly not exceptional like last year or even more so 2007.

5th consecutive months with below average minima;

December 0.4c (-2.0c)

January; -0.9c (-2.5c)

February; 0.1c (-1.2c)

March; 2.2c (-0.7c)

April; 3.8c (-0.3c)

Year so far for mean minima is still -1.2c below normal.

Mean Maxima is 0.6c below normal

Yes the consistently below average mins are notable this year, indicative of the lack of any sustained atlantic airstreams and their associated cloud and dampness.
