its been downgraded for everywhere with some places in belfast reporting 7c and its 4c here. the rain better hurry up!diablo.gifcray.gif the snows gonna have to be heavy and if it is im almost certain of lying snow

I'm not convinced it will deliver snow away from high ground in NI. We had more favourable synoptics during Winter which didn't deliver which makes it less likely now.

The only favourable aspect is the projected heavy precipitation which may tip the balance.

I think localised flooding is more likely to be an issue than snow.

yeah we couldve got alot of snow in the winter if it was heavier.. this is supposed to be heavier so we shall see.. that usually makes it snow.. depends how temps go.. Will the temps drop back to 3c.. or so when the rain arrives??? these temps worry me!cray.gif

You shouldn't let weather worry you, if it doesn't snow, there's always next year, eh?

Revolting charts today, i could of accepted this cold spell if it was going to be decent but the low looks like sitting right over us with the cold air twirling around it leaving us in bland -3/-4 850pha and drizzle for Wednesday.

There is settled snow not far from me above about 300m; I can see it out the window when the low cloud clears from the hills

True. We had some snow here earlier but only when the drizzle was heavier and of course it didn't lie. We just need some heavier precip but that could be a while yet.

It certainly has been watered down to nothing for southern areas! I don't even expect to see falling snow at 300m in south now wallbash.gif for tue/wed or thur.

Cold rain is the worst and it is thick hill fog here today.nonono.gif

Wow, I must admit i didnt see this coming.

Few things:

Today -> Wed : Could be in for some interesting heavy rain.. Maybe convective?

Wednesday : looks interesting for round here ( Possible snow ) - More than likely rain though.

Sunday : ( Metcheck shows heavy snow for here, 11mm in one hour ) I Personally cant see 11cm+ falling round here this time of year. But still interesting.

Looks like this week is going to be fun, Not just for nowcasting and any possible snow. But the rain itself is exciting.

I would not believe what metcheck says at that range! It is often wrong for the one day forecast let alone the 7 day lol I think best we can hope for even with some height on my side is a few wintry showers of rain/hail/sleet and maybe a burst of wet flakes in heavier pulses.

I agree completely.

Its just nice to know that the models are fairing in that direction as there must be some kind of signal for colder weather. ( albeit minimal )

Gonna be fun.

The rain to the SW is edging closer. Its gonna be wet later!

Oh yes it is already pouring with rain here as i type! I only enjoy the extreme torrential rain you can get from a proper storm in summer after a baking hot day, all other types of rain from drizzle to heavy rain bores me to be honest.

no were forecast snow from tonight.. rain to snow. well all see what happens with temps and thigs within the next few hours. if the rain hurries up! I remember a system like this in primary school it started raining aaround lunch time... then it turned to snow around dinner... if temps go alright im expecting something similar to that although later. EDit: the band looks thinner... surely that cant last for 48 hours! If you watch bbc it turns to snow for me around midnight then stays as snow through to tomorrow night..

How goes it Catch?

The hill here was white this morning when I left for work and the snow was also starting to cover the grass in the garden cold.gif

The last patch of snow from December 17th, only just melted on March 19th clap.gif

I hope you're staying off the Stoorie-Midori now big man

Still grey and yug here. I see the Met-O weather warning is looking good for some parts of NI and Scotland/N.England. It remains to be seen what the flash warnings are like though. A lot of fun ahead somewhere  :)
