Currently 8C with bright sunshine and blue sky. Another fine day in prospect. Fairly unusual for it to be so nice and warm this early in April, at least in the west of Scotland! Average maximum in April is 12.1C, even in July it is 19.6C and yesterday we reached 19C.

have a look at the Dundee/Net Wx visual sat piccs today-they show/will show how the cloud sheet over the N Sea is changing. Pop the 950mb wind values in and it may give a clue to any cloud breaks in your particular area.

the 00z skew-t's for Albemarle and Watnall suggested between 060-070 and about 15knots, the Ekofisk ascent showed it just about clear of the low cloud, and a dry ascent; Albemarle also suggested little in the way of low cloud whilst Watnall shows the St Sc very well.

I thought I'd clicked on the wrong date too, but the other way round with the temp being way too high for the time of year. 17C is really quite warm for here, if it reaches 19C again then that's the same temp as an average summer day for the west of Scotland. Back down to earth tomorrow onwards with a maximum of 12C forecast, although that's the GFS forecast...
