Latest - A very cold night at the moment with clear skies and the temperature only at 2.1*C. May drop to below freezing if the skies remain clear (brrrrrrrr!) - definitly a wintry feel to the weather.

A risk of some light rain and showers, with another cool day to come, though perhaps shouldn't be too bad out of the rain.

Yesterday:

The sky cleared around the dawn period, which allowed the temperature to quickly fall to 3.7c and 0.5c on the grass, so just missing a ground frost. Sunny from the word go and warming rapidly, already at yesterdays maximum of 10.8c by observation. The morning and in to the early afternoon continued mostly sunny and was briefly quite pleasant with the temperature reaching 15.4c, before falling back in to the cool category by mid afternoon, as cloudy conditions spread in to the area.

[Thundery wintry showers]

Mostly cold and cloudy in Norwich but there was a bit of sunshine earlier, high of 9C at Norwich Airport so far. The "clean" Arctic airmass has reached northern England and is spreading south but I think us in East Anglia will get a modified version with the winds coming from the northeast rather than the north, judging by the models. I would probably be quite excited by the upcoming spell of weather if I was living somewhere in northern or western Britain though.

Currently 5c and recently had a moderate soft hail shower which temporarily whitened the ground. Hills are now white to below 2000 feet with quite a few wintry showers about. A real old fashioned sprng which brings back lots of memories.
