Started Tuesday May 11th in Norman with a Slight Risk for Storms mainly in Oklahoma. Went West towards Clinton with an Initial Chase Target of Woodward. Changed this on route when it started to look like SW Oklahoma was primed but due to strong capping in this area we went back to initial target area of NW Oklahoma. Cap got bust at 745pm and got on the only cell of the day along with about 1,000 chasers. This turned into an absolutely amazing LP Supercell which looked like the Volcanic Ash Cloud  Some of the guys have incredible pictures and Videos of this, as we approached Wooodward the cell got Tornado Warned so we went to about 2 Miles away from the Rotation, we managed to miss the large hail but took a few stray bullets from the Anvil. When the cell died off we ate Macydees and headed East to Enid in readiness for another chase Today!

great photo by Dave there Paul. glad you missed the heavy hail. would imagine baseball size hail would do lots of damage if you were caught in it. happy hunting for today

Got a few pics of the damage today before we set out for the chase. Was quite unreal to see what tornadoes can do first hand  Few screengrabs of some lightning and some other pics too. Just uploading an ace video of the lightning too but probably wont be ready till the morning.

Cheers for those Smokes. and as you say, the damage that the winds can do is quite scarey. and with that in mind, you lot take care out there

Well, you got to your original target of Woodward the long-way round

Shame that cell that formed near Mangum struggled and disappated, probably struggling with the cap. Then the best storm of the day fired near the TX Panhandle/OK Border further north near the dryline/warm front triple point and this was in a much better environment wind shear-wise, apparently the cell produced a brief funnel near Woodward. No tornado reports apart from over Ohio.
