The cold sea does not seem to be affecting the tm airflow, i thought if the NAD stops we would be 5c colder due to the lack of a mild feed, but the colder SST's are not making much difference to what is possible in winter, well thats something il look into, but at the moment its pulled up from a very warm place and cooled down to 12c-15C when it arrives(as has and is to get much milder )so in theory in january thats quite something!

(Indeed, warmer air has little or no effect. Pool of 5c now stretching across the mid-North Sea.)

Cromer, in East Anglia, is back down to 5C, seems that this mild spell is decreasing the temperatures!

5C in Skegness, Lincolnshire now aswell, possibly 2-3C in parts of EA/Lincs. by early February, 0C by March anyone?!

Whats really intereasting here is that cold area round Florida / Gulf of mexico later in the animation, the birth place of the north atlantic gulf stream.

@BornFromTheVoid - surprising how quickly the SSTs plummet during December in a matter of days.

Is there a sign that La Nina may be weakening? The waters are looking increasingly less cold.

With the weather carrying nothing of interest to me I haven't been encouraged much to keep this thread going, but here is today's SST map.
