Started Monday May 31st in Norman for what was to be Chase Team 4's first official Chase Day. After being kept awake all night by an incredible Storm with loud Thunderbolts that were shaking the Hotel my Initial Target was the Oklahoma Panhandle and Guymon. We left quite late but were soon into the Panhandle staring down the barrel at 1 Single Supercell that was moving through Baca County and into the Oklahoma Panhandle. I really thought we might miss the show on this as 2 Tornadoes had already been called in, but as we approached Boise City the Base was in front of us with a Ragged Wall Cloud. Yet another Classic Supercell with Rain Free Base. I positioned us North of Boise City with the Storm trundling towards us at a Snails Pace. The Structure was getting amazing by this time and at 6.09pm the first Tornado Dropped in front of us, a Slender Cone that turned into a huge Stovepipe Tornado, once again we all had our pictures taken in front of the Tornado, it was on the ground for 13 Minutes. A new Wall Cloud formed and Tornado Number 2 dropped about 25 Minutes later, yet another Cone Tornado, this was only on the ground for 2 Minutes. About 10 minutes later Tornado number 3 occured, this was slightly Rain Wrapped but we got enough through the Wrapping rain curtains for pics. After this 4 Supercells surrounded us and we carefully picked our way through the cells to end at Liberal (Ks).

Richard has some amazing Video to Upload to the player and the guys are absolutely over the Moon. I am getting to like Baca County (Colorado) and this now takes my Seasons Tally to 17 Tornadoes and 42 Career Tubes!

Kansas and Iowa Today!

Great start for tour 4 and happy for you that you were able to make it in time to see this tremendous structured tornado producing supercell, i think in total around 7 or 8 were dropped before sunset , ah you see Pat when you go chasing you have to stay for the whole duration missing this by a day would have been absolutely gut wrenching.... I think you'll need a holiday after this epic stormchase Paul, you're starting to look very tired.... :good:

Excellent photos and what a start for tour 4.

That first tornado is perfect, photogrenic and out of the rain, just how we like them.

Hope you see more.

Good job guys. Can't say I'd looked at the models or SPc since leaving on Saturday (too busy sleeping off jetlag), but am I right in thinking this was only a 2% day or so? Beautiful structure... wish I was still there....

Some superb photos there, very interesting looking day and whilst I was busy doing my hurricane season forecas t was keeping a check on everything.

Have to be honest, I think every tour have had plenty of severe weather, we've been very lucky this year in that the season exploded just as the tours began and kept up ever since really.

Definitely looks like the same one, if you compare the video at around 00:25 and Pauls 5th photo it looks exactly the same but from a different angle.

Amazing footage, thanks for the link Jo!
