12c, scattered clouds, moderate W'ly. Some heavy showers so far today, some with Hail A temperature drop of 3c, occured during one such shower.

Had a heavy hail shower before.

Hail and sleet shower on Tyneside- the sleet was certainly not forecast!

Apart from that, today's weather has been uninteresting relative to much of the rest of the UK, the coastal strip from Tynemouth to Sunderland largely missing the showers, and having a very strong icy cold wind which made it very unpleasant to go outside.

Top temperature, at 10-11C, about average for the time of year, but feeling several degrees colder because of the wind.

Incredable storm here,could even be a T-storm,definatly the most intense storm of the year so far,even better then the thundersnow,it was like a monsoon!

Most of today was cloudy with brief sunshine and only light showers, a cool wind and temp up to 10c.

However the evening has changed dramatically with a wind direction switch from W - NW bringing heavy rain and hail showers over the last hour and a half.
