Its been a notably cold day in eastern england for June going by the recordings - maxes between 11-13 degrees is particularly poor for June and under cloudy skies and a strong north wind I suspect is felt like a raw March day..

Here we climbed to 17 degrees, not great but under the sunny spells this afternoon it felt pleasant even if that wind was jolly cold.

Today shows how a strong direct northerly feed and relatively cold North Sea can produce quite cold feeling days even in June for much of east England.

Tonight looks a cold one around here, suspect we will be down to 5 degrees possibly 4 degrees, places like Shap Fell could drop to 2 degrees.
