For the folks in Telford, it looks for once like this storm is more our way... its not in shrewsbury, but over by Atcham seems the darkest part..

its not massively active to be fair, but to see a form of lightening in this days is like winning the pools!

Didn't have time to post yesterday but we had a very good storm at 7pm, plenty of lightning, thunder, and torrential rain. That makes 3 storms so far this July which is good going, and to my west it's gone very dark and the blanket of cloud is getting closer, looks like another storm on the way. :(

Edit: Just heard thunder in the distance

The keep missing me just to my east :( But keep getting light showers and currently picking with rain. Dark cloud to the south looks like it might actually hit me this time! Dont think much will come from it though!

Nope...it's not moving fast at all, and if anything those showers if they did make it across the sea would probably die out. I'm keeping my eye on tonight's developments. There has been reports of Thunderstorms over Ireland this afternoon, and with this unstable air moving southwards, we could see further showers tonight. Fingers crossed.

Anybody wanting too see the rain shadow effect type in s89en in net-weather extra radar and watch the approaching shower. What normally happens it will weaken or even go altogether then if it survives the journey start to build again as it heads away.

Got to admit I'm surprised at the lack of shower activity today thought there would be more around.

Gone windy and sheet of cloud has gone milky white, which usually means heavy rain and lightning.

Looking at the NMM model, shows some decent CAPE values tomorrow for these areas, Although the lower resolution (normal GFS model) shifts the CAPE values further South each run, I would expect some decent values around much of England tomorrow.

What do people think on their chances tomorrow?

Nice one!

That skirted by to my west, couldn't see much from my window.

Got some stuff heading up from Birmingham which should clip here, if not then I'll head out to get a better view of it approaching later, assuming it keeps its intensity. No idea whether the Brum cell is electrificated though

damn right I am...lol....probably more rain in the past 2 hours than in over a month.......This heavy shower is very slow moving, I can just see the back edge of the anvil as the rain now eases...I haven't seen/heard lightning/thunder from this shower, but it certainly packs a punch with rainfall!

Well this shower has turned out rather disappointing, after an initial burst of heavy rain and strong-ish winds things have died down, just over-cast with light rain. The shower North of Brum looks like a direct hit.

Erm, I've just heard about 6 rumbles of thunder from the distance in the last 30 seconds and they all seem to be new rumbles. Whats a cookin?
