A cold and clear night for August here, low 4.1c, with 1.6c on the grass, the coldest locally since 2003 (3.5c) at this station.

However it was even colder in Rosliston, just 2 miles away, the minimum in the screen was 3.1c with –0.3c on the grass, so an early ground frost there, these readings make it the coldest August night (locally) since records began in 1991.

A very nice start to Autumn, as mentioned by others, the sun was hazier this morning, but this cleared to give full sunshine for the afternoon. It was also warm in the sunshine, more so than on recent days.
