A continuing force 3 north westerly wind overnight hasn’t prevented a widespread ground and slight air frost from forming, low –0.1c, with -2.8c on the grass. At observation, sunny, but feeling cold with sub-zero wind chill, frost on the ground. The day stayed very clear with wall to wall bright sunshine from a deep blue sky. Feeling very cool though in the west to north west wind, top temperature 8.6c but with the dew point below –5c. Maximum wind gust 24 mph WNW. Ground frost set in quickly after dark.
