Where the best place to fit a weather sensor from the Maplin unit L78AQ?

It's range is nothing short of poor but having found that below a gutter is poor as trapped heat gets caught in there, now its just below a window sill, is it going to require a bracket that protrudes it away from the house?

Ideally it should be in a screen and 4ft above ground. I actually made my own screen for my first digital thermometer, and I got pretty good results. If you can't get your hands on a screen, the next best area is on a north facing wall, in as much shade as possible. You only need a very small amount of exposure to the sun to have a temperature that is miles out. A bracket is a must, the sensor needs airflow all around it, and being literally stuck to the wall it will certainly pick up heat from the house.
