After a brief snowfall late yesterday evening which deposited a further centimetre to take the mean depth to 27cm there has been a slow thaw today. A mostly cloudy and rather damp day followed by moderate rain in the evening and the depth is now closer to 17-20cm. Nevertheless it was a rather cold for the time of year, with a maximum temperature of 2.1C.

The rain gauge on the Davis registered 6.8mm in total, but still has it's snow cap so theres a lot more in there. The rain has stopped now but its still rather damp.

Currently 1.7C and 95% humidity.

Some fairly heavy rain with sleet blobs driving to Carmarthen this afternoon.

Here in St Clears, west of Carmarthen there have been light rain showers, and the pavements are very treachorous.

Pressure: 1004mbar, rising slowly.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
