Min -.3.2 in Biggin Hill -Fantastic Hoar frost with all the trees coted white as though someone has sprayed them with a glaze affect.,This late November/December has had everything I like about Winter weather bar one thing the thaw on Saturday . Heavy dry snow Easterly winds blowing the snow, Winter sunshine Freezing Fog and now a wonderful winter frost. Next week could be interesting. Wonder if the 6ins of snow in the garden and side roads will last for 12 days and beyond.

well the minimum continues its slide downwards-last night -11.7C, getting close to the Finningley December record of -13.5C in 1981. Mind you the airport 3 miles away showed -17C at some point!

Snow is getting harder and harder, where its not hard its a sort of crystalline quality, no loss yesterday still 13cm as the average depth. It was foggy for a time around dawn now its overcast and misty-no wind.

13 consecutive days with air frost and 12 with 0900 snow cover, 14 if you count from 2100z!

Can any more records be broken, there are after all 83 days of official winter left!

The 700th night of air frost here last night, but with a minimum of just -3.7º (and a high of -1.9º when the snow fell I imagine). Currently foggy, cold (-3.4º), and getting a bit boring now.

Clear and sunny after a cloudy morning. The min temp last night was -7.9C which is the coldest since December 1995 and 6th coldest at this site since 1982. Unfortunately it clouded over for a time at 11pm and then again at 3pm meaning we missed the -10C mark which many areas a bit further west managed.

The current temperature is -2.5C after a max earlier of -1.4C. It'll be two consecutive ice days at this rate which is an extremely rare occurance here.

As you'd expect, absolutely no thaw at all. Theres 12cm of compacted snow still on the ground and no melt in the rain gauge either.
