Am indoors with no windows so have no clue what the weather is, the temp has dropped in south Leeds to -0.8c. If it is and it's snowing it's a very good sign

Main band of precipitation almost reached my area according to the radar.

Current temps and dew points are: Temp -0.9c Dew point -1.1c

The heaviest PPN is in north lincs, and the GFS has it moving into the north sea later ;)

By the time the next batch of heavy PPN arrives, i think things will be to marginal even as far north as you.

Morning mate

Yeah, I should have worded that post a little bit differently

Anyway, the pecipitation is almost upon me, so we shall soon find out whether it falls as snow or sleet. Atm, the radar is indicating sleet :(

Good luck anyway mate. There is the odd flake mixed in with the heavy rain here currently. At least something is happening unlike last week when it was just cloudy and dry all the time lol.

Certainly heavier in Leeds LS11

Good covering on all surfaces

Still small flakes

The band of PPN seems to be rusing through quite quickly looking at the radar

been snowing quite heavy here in Wakefield for over an hour now, and has settled everywhere, looking at the radar it shows snow until around 12 midday, and then nothing, so not sure where this rain is supposed to be coming from to wash it all away, unless thats later tonight, much better than i expected B)

These picctures were taken 20 minutes go from my house in Dronfield Derbyshire and it's still snowing.

Thanks for posting those. It looks like you are getting a very nice amount down there.

Looking at the radar, it appears that I'm still among the lightish stuff, but I'm a little more confident that what falls will be of snow.

I wasn't expecting much if any snow certainly not the amount we have seen anyway, it's still snowing can't see it lasting much longer however, just had a phone call saying that their is traffic chaos yet again in some parts of Sheffield as the gritters haven't been out here yet again.

Just about on the back edge of the front now and still no sign of it turning to rain. Dew points holding out rather nicely. Not a vast quantity of the white stuff here but a covering of about 1cm.

I must admit to enjoying walking free of that

deadly ice though.
