I think I saw 2 flashes of lightning on Wednesday 13th this month, at 8:45pm in the evening :D

The torrential downpour only lasted a min, but it was torrential with very heavy rain and hail. So storm-wise, I saw 2 flashes of lightning :)

Thanks for keeping this up to date Paul :D

just thought to say I had three thunderstorms that I was under, one was a LP supercell according to the weatherman, the other was a squall line.

the third one was just your average single cell,I can assue you though the supercell was an amazing site, had hail towards the end of the system, very little rain really apart from the last 2 mins which gave 10MM of rain.I don't know the synpotics but there was a strong trough around I know that much, apparently there was a fairly strong tornado 20 mins up the road.

the squall line was also amazing,if abit short lived,in 30 mins it dumped 25 mm of rain and was one of the worst downpoars there in spring.

Sadly I was on the edge of the supercell, however a few hours later I was in the middle of the squall line.

Does that go for me also :D:D:D I am on the same flight as him and Saturday and Sunday has Severe Storms with Supercells forecasted for Northern Texas/Kansas and Oklahoma :D:D This should be my 1st sight of a Supercell, seeing as the only one to occur in the UK Officially was in 1973!! But i think there must have been some nearer to the future just the Meto do not have the data to back anything up.

Hi paul, common misconception,we can't ever get offical supercells due to the lack off doppler, however I suspect there are at least 5-10 or so low topped supercells a year as well as elevated supercells

although 'proper' HP and LP supercells are fairly rare, they do occur from time to time and when they do give some awesome condtions. However I'm sure your going to see your first 'Offical' supercell out in the U.S!

Weekly and Overall Thunder Leagues Updated to Friday 27th May 2005.

A 5 way Split at the Top and Western England fared best in the Weekly league.

Thunder Reports are much more spread across the country for this year, could be different to last year with regards to locations receiving the most storms.
