    The first half of March 1892 was very cold and wintry with frequent snowfalls and severe frosts. The first of March 1892 had a CET of just 0.1C, overall CET was 2.7C

    Some reports

    Addington: Frost every night from 2nd to 15th

    Minima

    9th: 19F

    10th: 21F

    13th: 21F

    14th: 19F

    Torquay: Frequent snow showers from 2nd to 10th, snow cover from 9th to 15th

    Stroud: East winds on 8 days, NE winds on 10 days

    Orleton: On 10 days of the first 15, temperatures never reached 40F, snow on 7 days

    Leicester: mean temp of 36F

    Manchester: mean temp of 37.3F, 8 inches of snow on 10th

    Cargen: mean temp for first 16 days was 33.4F

    Waterford: mean temp of 38.5F

    Dublin: snow on 7 days, temperatures only exceeded 50F on 6 days, mean temperature of 39.7F

    Doddington Rectory: snow daily from 1st to 13th

    Cheltenham: temperatures only above 40F on 2 days from 4th to 12th
