Conditions overnight, wall to wall cloud, a few light showers ended this morning, with a generally improving picture. 4.19am this morning a loud clap of thunder, no lightening associated with the thunder. Was isolated to one clap, light rain was falling at the time.

Intense but short-lived thunderstorm at 0250, torrential rain and hail, a gale force squall, quite frequent TL, brilliant vivid flashes and forks, quite a few within a mile or 2. Temperature peaked at 13.3c just before this, and dropped to 11c afterwards. Also, pressure dipped to 1003mbar just before the storm, only to suddenly rise to 1006mbar by 0300! Quite a significant little trough!

Further showers overnight.

The cold front has passed here now with the temp currently at 11.8c after falling from a peak of 15.3c earlier this morning after a short weak thunderstorm at 0400. The clouds are now breaking and it is nice and sunny and feeling a little fresher than before
