Hot Start To June 1950

The first week of June 1950 was hot with a CET of 18.9C by the 7th and the month overall was very warm with 16.2C

The 5th, 6th and 7th were the hottest days, 31.1C recorded at Kensington Palace on the 5th and 33.3C at Camden Square, 32.8C at Southport and Manchester, 31.7C at Blackpool and London Airports on the 6th.

Rainfall was unevenly distributed across the country during the month due to the thundery nature of the rain. Some places were dry such as Teignmouth with 35% and yet Okehampton in the same county recorded 133% of the expected June rainfall.
