Heavy showers in eastern Mediterranean

Today

Rains sweeps in across a winder Britain today but rather windy. High pressure areas across Europe are going to bring a good deal of dry, settled conditions across much of mainland Europe. Deep low pressure will give gusty winds and frequent heavy showers to southern Greece and Turkey with rain across eastern Romania. Lots of heavy showers too with thunderstorms are expected south of Greece and Turkey in the eastern Mediterranean. Lots of dry, cool weather across into Italy but warm, dry and sunnier into the Balearics into Spain and Portugal. Fine and mostly sunny from France eastward to Russia. Showers will affect western Norway but dry from eastern Norway into Sweden and southern Finland. Apart from a few coastal showers, it looks dry across Belgium, Holland and Denmark.

Tuesday

Showers to come across western Britain today with a band of rain across Sweden into Denmark into northern Germany into northern France. Fine and dry with sunny spells from southern France into the rest of Germany and eastward across Poland to Russia and Finland. Snow showers will affect Norway today and windy too. Heavy rain is forecast across the Ukraine into the Black Sea with a few showers across Turkey today. Fine and dry across Greece and west into Italy, Spain and Portugal. Still quite warm across other Iberia. Lots of sunshine to come but chill across Greece, the former Yugoslavia into Hungry and Austria into Switzerland. Rain clears Belgium and the Netherlands in the morning leaving a few showers.

Friday

An area of rain is going to be extending through eastern France and into the east and central parts of Spain on Friday. Western France, Portugal and the west of Spain will be brighter but rather showery. Much of the central and eastern Mediterranean will be dry with good spells of sunshine and it should be warm here as well. For Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Poland it should be a dry day too. It is likely to be feeling very warm with plenty of sunshine. Norway, Denmark and Sweden should be dry as well. Here there will be a warm southerly wind which will be bringing more sunny spells and dry conditions. Cloud and some outbreaks of rain affecting the east of Spain on Monday. heavier periods of rain through the Balearics and this extending through southern France, northern Ireland and into Switzerland. Fair weather for Portugal and Spain with some sunny spells to come here. Broken cloud across the rest of France with the threat of some heavy showers here. Eastern parts of the Mediterranean should be dry. There will be plenty of sunshine and dry weather across Greece and Turkey, this sunshine extending into Bulgaria and Romania. Germany will have some showers, a few of them heavy. Similar weather for Poland where there could be some heavy showers too. A fair day through Denmark, southern Norway and southern Sweden with the fair weather extending through the Baltic States and Finland.

Monday

Some rain to come across Portugal and western parts of Spain through Monday. Most of the rest of Spain will be dry with good spells of sunshine. More sunshine through the Mediterranean extending into Italy and western Greece. A significant area of low pressure in the eastern Mediterranean bringing rain to eastern Greece and Turkey. Across central Europe conditions should be fair. There will be sunny spells and it should be breezy over France. The Low Countries and Germany will be dry with good spells of sunshine to come here, and it should remain fair through Poland as well. Sunny spells and dry weather in Switzerland and Austria.
