Rain finally stopped here this evening. That's got to be the biggest soaking I've had since last year.

Went out in it earlier and even my umbrella didn't stop me getting wet. Not to mention the wind turning it inside out more often than not. I can't think of many autumn days which have felt so inclement, much less June!

A suprisingly fine morning with bright spells and even some weak sunshine from time to time and temps up to 15 degrees by 11am- those who hadn't checked the forecast would have been right to think a good day was on the cards.. however, the cloud quickly covered the sky by noon and the rain started at about 1pm (bit later than forecast), it was fairly light/moderate to start but became heavy later in the afternoon with very low cloud shrouding the fells and temps down to 10 degrees.

This evening has felt autumnal with dark grey skies and a quick descent into dusk. It is still raining albeit light.

Tomorrow should deliver a dry day and by afternoon perhaps some bursts of sunshine from time to time.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
