The night has been clear and cold with a slight ground frost, low –0.6c with 2.7c in the screen. The day dawned sunny, but high and mid level cloud spread rapidly over the area by 08:00 GMT, by observation at 09:00GMT light to moderate rain set in. The rest of the day stayed wet with continuous light to moderate rain, and the odd heavy burst. Very cool for June with the temperature between 10.5c and 11.0c for the most part, after an initial high of 13c before the rain. It was also windy with strong south-easterly gusts. Maximum wind speed 41mph. Rainfall from 09:00 GMT to 18:00 GMT 18.9mm, the wettest 24 hours so far this year.

Having checked the NW radar at 06.30 and it showing not even drizzle around here I happily went out to work expecting

a dry morning despite the Cold Front still to pass. Then between 07.30-08.30 there was heavy drizzle and even, surprisingly,

some sharp bursts of rain - reviewing the radar shows that the front developed somewhat as it crossed The Mendips and towards

Salisbury Plain.

Since 09.00 the day has been bright with some sunny spells among a lot of Stratocumulus, it's very humid at 89% and the temperature

is currently 16.9c. Sunshine seems to be increasing so the afternoon may well become lovely.

This June is really not too bad here. A warm sunny afternoon 18c making up for the cool rain of sunday.

Mostly cloudy with sunny intervals here, a light W-NW breeze and a temp of 18.7C.

Yesterday was interesting with 35mm of rain and wind averaging 26mph gusting 40mph, I found it quite interesting and if the weather is cool/wet I'd rather it did it in style like yesterday or in thundery showers because then I find it interesting. What I least like in summer is cloudy/cool and damp/wet but no significant rain or interesting weather.

Was a lovely day today. Started out a bit dull in the morning and looked to be threatening rain (carry over from yesterday?), but the clouds dispersed very early and the rest of the day has had a nice mix of sun and cloud. Felt warm in the sunlight, but with a gentle cool breeze that kept things from feeling too hot. Temperatures around 20 C I think.
