Overcast.

All very uninspiring, but I'm sure I'll be wishing for this weather later on if today's forecast is anything to go by.

After a dry start with some hazy sunshine the thick clouds began to produce rain just after 10.00 and it's been raining lightly since then

although it's still fairly bright too.

Quite windy from the SSW, 12.9c and humidity is 85%.

In all honesty a very poor forecast for today. Even down here in the southwest I've had no measurable rain today and it remains relatively bright. Despite all of us reporting dry weather still the met office refuse to say they got it wrong with the same bleak forecast on BBC1 at 1.30 as earlier. It's one of those days when the best advice is to look out of the window.

I guess I shouldn't have complained about how little rain we had in May, 2.4mm this afternoon, most of that in the last hour and the rate is increasing

The forecast for today was way out as far as this area is concerned. No more than half a dozen spots of rain so far and nothing much on the horizon until at least late afternoon by the look of the radar.

Perhaps I should have put this in the whining thread.

A nice dry day with lots of sunshine this morning, the forecast was bang on! (sarcasm)

And what is it with the rain shadow over my area of the midlands?

This happened all last winter as well as the summer and winter before?

There has got to be a reason?
