31.0c now! Wonder how high it will go. The sky has gone rather milky now, with a lot of high level cloud, although sun is still out. Some storms later would be a perfect finish to the day!

Variable amounts of cloud earlier, this has all cleared to leave cloudless skies.

Of course that was a one-off. The average temp for this time of year is 12.2C

Generally the best we do during the summer is about 15-16C and ev en then there is still wind chill which knocks 1-2 degs off the "real feel."

26.3º here now - hotter than I anticipated we'd get. In fact another 0.7º will give me a new June record.

Not really much of a temperature change since 9am here. Currently 27.1C so only a 2C increase in the last 4 hours.

Fortunately the humidity has dropped a little to 67%.

Suddenly gone almost totally overcast, looks like that mass of cloud has spread across everywhere except the far SE (yet again!). No rain though- it had better either give some storms or go and plague somewhere else!

After a gorgeously sunny morning hazy high cloud thickened to completely blot out the sun by lunchtime and its been overcast ever since.

Despite this its 24.9c and reached 25.5c half an hour ago.

A sunny start saw the temperature reach 24.7c by 09.30 but it then clouded over and there have been a few sharp showers

out of medium level cloud - very interesting swirly cloud formations. Currently 21.4c and 69% humidity.

already the hottest day in my back garden since 17 July 2006 when it reached 33.7C, currently on 32.8C

The 2006 is the hottest in 11 years data.

In the RAF Finningley data no max in June exceeded that, neither 1947(32.8C on 3rd) nor 1976(32.1C on 27th).
