Just had a few drops of rain, still very humid but not got higher than 26.5: if it can top 30C in Yorkshire why is it so difficult to do so here, much further south?

Please can this be a proper thundery breakdown, not a dull drizzly muggy one again..........

29.0ºC here, it's climbed one and a half degrees in the past hour. But I'm looking forward to the fireworks tonight. I trust they're still on?

Stupid status clouds and now the temperature is dropping like a rock, can't foresee thunder storms tonight in the bleak district (but the last time I heard thunder was like 2 years ago uh).

I've got one of those infra red point and shoot thermometers. It says 30º in sheltered spots round the back.

Yesterday I went to Lindley Wood Reservoir. The stream is the River Washburn which was dammed in 4 stages to make reservoirs which serve Leeds.

Disappointing day for the west midlands, turned cloudy with bits of rain or drizzle here near Birmingham, to be honest three days with just one sunny day out of the lot and the rest dull with drizzle is a pretty feeble hot snap.

Warm and sunny to start with the temp reaching 21.3C at 9:20, then clouded over with thundery looking skies but only a bit of moderate rain occurred. The wind picked up briefly from the south and the temp dropped to 16.7C

After this the sun came out briefly and the temp quickly rose to 23.2C before cloud came back over and a sea breeze (or general southerly breeze) picked up. A very high dew point with a max 20.0C with the temp of 23C too!

Currently 19.4C, 85% humidity and 17.6C dew point with altostratus cloud, thickest to the SE, blue sky off to the west.

Rain today: 1.6mm

Just as a side note April recorded a higher temperature than this spell here, as today was the highest max of this spell at 23.2C.

Dropping at a crazy rate now thanks to the cold front. Down to 19.8C after a high of 28C! Almost 10C in an hour and 30 mins. Amazing.

Well we've had another hour burst of strong sunshine (the sun is soooo hot at this time of the year in the right conditions, felt equivalent to the sun strength in an average day in Corfu at the end of August last year), and that strong sunshine has rocketed the temperature up to 27.8º which is a June record for me.

I played golf this morning and it as glorious with alight cooling sea breeze and the temperature at 26 c,finished at 2-30pm retired to the 19th hole for about an hour and came home in the glorious sunshine ,looked at the radar which showed a storm both tomy north and south,w went dark with several claps of thunder but no observable lightning, but this soon followed with heavy rain which has just ceased and the sun has returned, the temperature during the storm fell to 21c but has since risen to 23.5c.

Cleadon reached 26.4C yesterday but only 22.6C today- a warm sunny morning with altocumulus castellanus, but a NE wind slowly picked up off the North Sea from mid morning onwards. Thunderstorms moved in over the last hour with numerous rumbles and a few showers, but the "haar" came in off the North Sea as the storms approached, so have seen absolutely nothing of it after the initial approach of the Cb cells.

Currently 16.2C with a nagging north-easter and sea fog with another shower of rain.

Mild and clear last night.

When I left for work at 0900 it was becoming hot and sunny, 21c; when I arrived in Cardigan near the coast, the cool air was in place and it was cloudy and quite misty at just 17c. The cool air then took 4 hours to move 20 miles inland!

Sunny and very warm to 10am, then hazy sunny intervals as the cloud increased, but still very warm into the early afternoon.

Overcast and much cooler after 1330. Temperature fell from 23c at 1300 to 18c by 1500. Light and variable breeze veered NW this afternoon.

Min: 12.6c @ 0400

Max: 24.6c @ 1100 (1c adjustment)

Dry yesterday and today so far.

Currently: Overcast, cool.

Temp:15.8c

RH: 84%

Pressure: 1013mbar, steady.

The surface cold front is rapidly moving into the peak district now having already travelled through Liverpool/Manchester, temp dropping very quickly, dropped 1°C in less than 15 minutes from 22 to 21 degrees. Wind now out of the north west.

still cloudy after a few large spots of rain around 1500, max temp of 32.9C is the 2nd highest here and also beats any June max on the RAF Finningley records. Not definite of course but probably the 2nd hottest June day in this area in over 60 years(69 using Finningley data).

Temp now 27.4C but Td still way up at 17.0C, still a drop from its high of 19C mid am!

crazy temp changes... we had a high of 27.4 earlier today and then it dropped fairly steadily to about 21 with light rain. Now the cloud is clearing and we are back up to 25.9 and it feels really muggy again!
