Cirrus clearing here in Bexleyheath, almost back to clear blue skies :good:

Same here, the temperature has risen to 31.1C as a result, the clearer the better!

Hmm Torro warning says I might have a chance if something DOES happen. I'm going to hold on to that bit of hope lol

Couple of cells just off the border of "brest" keep an eye on them, Sun is out again and temps are rising.

i have a funny suspicion that this is area of intensification.

I think I can hear very distant thunder now - is that possible? The storms must be well over 10 miles away...

Sat24 appears to show a possible Cu field towards N of London...not completely sure whether this is indeed a Cu field or higher level clouds.

I can comfirm there are some huge clouds building in NW London

Looking impressive on the radar there is a second area that seems to be intensifying just below the first

Sun gone in behind a very thundery looking cloud - I'm sure I'm still hearing distant thunder.

33.2c here now. Scorchio!, especially for my coastal region. Clear blue skies and a nice off shore breeze, which feels super heated!. Humidity @ 50%

So far, just rain and not a lot of that. A lull for an hour or so and now the rain has started again. Still no Lor T.

My storm risk says at 16:00 2510.5 j/kg and -7 I have 0% risk of a storm but at 19:00 734.5 j/kg and -3 I have a 71% risk of a storm...is that an error is that due to when they think the cap may break?

Just because there's CAPE and LIFT around it doesn't mean there will be a thunderstorm. You have to have precipitation.

I can see the towering cumulonimbus cells to the west of Cleadon- they weren't discernable from the mist until recently but I can now see all of the Cb tops getting ever close.

Hoping that the pesky low cloud towards Tynemouth doesn't come over and ruin the view of whatever I get!

Not true at all...if the cap breaks and there is still a sufficiently solid dry layer around the storm, precipation leaving the cloud can evaporate before reaching the ground.

So far Storms 2 Met Office advisory 0 shows how difficult it is to predict these beasties.
