Yesterday, a rare specticle:

A fine example of a rare atmospheric spectacle called a circumzenithal arc, or an upside rainbow. See pic below which I took around 7pm last night.

Saturday: 02nd July 2011:

Quite chilly again last night under clear skies , low 5.9c with 5.9c on the grass. Another sunny start with shallow mist clearing quickly. At observation, fine and sunny, warming rapidly.

Yesterday:

Another chilly night, low 5.0c, with 2.6c on the grass. Shallow mist and fog patches on the near by fields cleared quickly with the sunny start. At observation, sunny spells, cumulus cloud bubbling up. The day stayed dry and bright with sunny spells, feeling pleasant with just a light west to northwest wind. The evening continued fine just thin wisps of cirrus, this producing a fine example of a rare atmospheric spectacle called a circumzenithal arc, or an upside rainbow. See pic above.

Out here in mid-Somerset the sun went behind growing cloud at about 11.00 a.m. and has steadfastly refused to appear since then. Quite thick and grey now despite areas of blue to South and North. Given up and started writing essays. :unsure:

Cloudless skies until around 10:15am, cloud started bubbling up after that with fairly cloudy skies by 12pm and generally cloudy since then unfortunately.

Temp scraped 20c, would of been warmer had the cloud not arrived so early...heres hoping for better luck tommorow.
