Started pleasantly with good mixture of sun and clouds - enough sun to make it warm sitting out but clouds have grown and are now joining up to obscure almost all the blue that was left. temperature has dropped about a degree or so as a result. Rather runbbish low cloud now affecting local RAF air display - it might even rain.

For the previous 3 days trains of showers ran approx 25 miles to my NW and 50 miles to my SE with the only rain here when

more organised bands/troughs went through overnight/early morning.

A slight shift in the wind today, from SW - WNW, brought 2 trains of showers directly through here, the first this morning

with a few torrential downpours and the second this evening from a convergence zone with sporadic sharp showers.

So for 3 days it was very pleasantly summery for the most part despite the potential for downpours, and today due to the wind

change there has been far less sunshine and 2 periods of showers! Therefore the day which was predicted to have the highest max

of the 4 days has turned out to be the coolest while those areas which had shower trains on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will

have had their sunniest/warmest day of the 4!

Probably the sunniest afternoon this summer, and it was mostly sunny in the morning too. For once the cloud never got past the scattered cumulus stage, and it was warm in the sun too. Almost totally clear from 6pm onwards, and still clear now. An unexpected but welcome decent day.
