Clear spells overnight, leading to a clear and sunny start. Sunny spells continuing through to observation, just a few cumulus humilis and a thin vale of cirrostratus in the western sky. Staying dry, fine with bright and sunny spells throughout the day, feeling warm.

Dry and cloudy at Cleadon with plenty of Sc from the North Sea, currently 14.9C (a little higher than I'd expected) following a minimum of 10.0C. Surprisingly, skies remained clear until about 6am despite the strengthening NE wind, but inevitably the cloud eventually came in off the sea.

Quite interesting to be under such persistent Cirrus etc with the LOW over France and the English Channel. There has been almost

unbroken hazy/lightbulb sunshine through the day so far with only brief patches of thicker cloud beneath the Cirrus veil.
