Following a very wet morning, it's been a sunny afternoon. The day has been salvaged.

Yes not the horror low as depicted so far! A dry bright if windy afternoon after just 6mmrain this morning.

A couple of hours of light to moderate rain this morning then an afternoon with the odd short sharp shower bringing the total to 6.4mm. Now sunny spells and quite warm in the sun. Never windy as forecast. Forecast not far off over did the wind though.

After a wet morning, the rain cleared by 2pm leaving sunshine and varying amounts of cloud but it is still very windy. Currently:

20mm of rain here today in four hours - stream in the park behind the house was a raging torrent having previously been a trickle. Rain certainly intensified over the Midlands this morning, once it cleared here about 1.30pm the progress was a lot more swift eastwards judging from the radar. Given the amount of rainfall here so far this year (at 100-150mm below average, ~ 190mm) 20mm in a single 4 hour sitting is quite substantial.
