Looking towards the W/NW the skies are full of convection and some pretty mean looking clouds!

Hopefully an interesting couple of hours on the way :D

fingers crossed! :)

Looking at rain today, East Anglia and the South East may be in for a display this evening ... I hope!

Personally, things are looking quite positive IMO.

I've got a beautiful view of Rochester castle and the surroundings and the sky is looking quite mouthwatering...some enormous clouds building, some building really quite rapidly and getting some good height.

I would say within the next hour we can expect further torrential downpours - activity has really picked up now lightning wise across the London region too, so maybe some more of that :D - whether they will keep their structure is anyone's guess...we could hear distant thunder, get nothing here then it fire up as it heads down the Thames/Sittingbourne way.

I'd say rain, yes almost 100%. Thunder, 40-50% :D

Radar in the last 10 mins not looking amazing for us now! Such is the nature of pulse type convection I suppose lol.

Chelmsford about to get nailed!

For us in Medway, skies looking a little better than radar suggesting.

Nah, actually looking a bit pants now!

Looking at the Meto forecast for NE England tonight I am hopeful (ish) dry.gif

Headline:

Scattered heavy showers this evening and during Monday.

This Evening and Tonight:

Heavy, thundery showers continuing across many parts of the region through the evening, local slow-moving downpours for a time, but some evening sunny intervals also possible. Still a few showers overnight but many parts becoming generally dry. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Monday:

Further heavy showers are likely, giving local downpours, with just a few sunny intervals in between. A northwesterly breeze picking up during the afternoon, so feeling on the cool side. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Didn't hear any thunder in Cleadon on this occasion and dodged the heavier showers (mostly moderate showers today) but can't complain too much as I've had six thunder-days in the space of a month since coming back here.

Southern Medway might be about to get something! Gone very dark all of a sudden with a nice tail cloud...winds very gusty too. I've got the tail end on it's way and, for all intents and purposes, a bit of a clear slot.

Sky in the distance looks like there's something....

I HATE PULSE TYPE STORMS....THEY'RE UNREADABLE!!!!! :wallbash:

Fantastic :yahoo: Torrential rain here, I was standing at my front door watching it and BANG a massive CG strrike, it lit up the whole area quickly followed by a huge bang. As I'm typing this my wife phoned to report another 2 miles to my East, possibly the same strike but what energy???

Are pulse storms ones that just spring up from nowhere?
